Designing Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies

Course Details

Rationale

Climate Change is a multidimensional complex contemporary global challenge that the world has to deal with collectively. Climate is unequivocally changing and the impacts thereof are evident both globally and locally. The impacts of climate change are wide ranging across
various sectors of the economy threatening the ambitions of sustainable development. There are two prominent ways to respond to this contemporary global challenge, i.e. by reducing and stabilizing the levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (“mitigation”)
and adapting to the climate change already in the pipeline (“adaptation”). This course exposes the Participants to the concepts of climate change and related impacts thereof. Participants will learn how to design synergistic mitigation and adaptation strategies to cope with climate change impacts for various sectors and real world cases.
